Get out you sickening RINO. We do not need to preserve the ACA. Get back to Maine where you belong. Our healthcare laws were trashed while you were in the Senate. You are worthless and we will find a real Republican to take you seat

  • Clay Williams

There are two important reasons she "Decided" to Not run for Governor 1)She would losel....2) she would have to WORK and as Senator she just (like the rest) refuses to help the REAL Repubs get something done to MAGA.

    Excellent decision!!!!!

Thus, the decline of America is a little slowed. The nation needs more, though.

  • kritikosman

You'd be a great governor, but thanks for staying around to keep some sanity in the senate.

  • STJ581

    Thank Gawd!!!

    Thank you, Susan.

Susan, Run for governor... 20 years is far to long to be in the senate

  • landy fincannon

Susan at least change parties. Your loyalty is not suspect, it's exposed

Thank you Ms Collins! Maine's dingus governor could be replaced by just about anyone (well, maybe not Brownback) and it would be an improvement. But you're worth your weight in gold in the Senate.

Senator Collins, thank you for your Public Service. And thank you for deciding to stay in the Senate. The country needs your moderate voice.

Here are two things from the article I emphatically agree with:
Collins said her fellow lawmakers "must stop allowing partisanship to be a pre-existing condition."

Collins said most Americans are moderates like herself — and need to speak up and become "fanatical moderates" to ensure Congress represents their interests.

I'm an Independent represented by Democrats. They represent me well but I disagree with some extreme positions and let them know.

At the end of the day I am convinced both parties have things to offer and bipartisanship will produce the best results for the country.

Happy, happy, joy, joy!!! And the icing on this cake is that that cretin Gov. LePage is out the door, no matter what. I've been to Maine, I love Maine and its people, and I'm overjoyed that the small state now will retain power in the Senate that is far out of proportion to her population. You rock, Sen. Collins!!!

  • hucky01

Thank you sincerely! You put the country before party and even state! Thanks!

  • Citizen123

She should switch parties and become a Dem. How in good conscience can moderates like her stay in what has become of the GOP?

  • mellack

She seems to be one of the few who cares more about what is good for the country than what is good for the party. This goes for those of both major parties.

  • harmony

Great news! Maine has a number of candidates running already for Gov., some very good choices.

  • Karolyn Lapka

Good! We need her in the Senate to speak her mind and stand her ground. I actually respect her and, in this political climate, that says a lot!

  • gordo53

Nice story, but most likely the Maine Republican Party told Ms. Collins thanks but no thanks.

  • SGNH

I feel bad for Maine but happy for us. We need moderates like Senator Collins in the Senate.
